My husband is pretty flexible when it comes to my crazy DIY ideas and requests for a quick weekend projects. Of course, I’m loving all the blush and pink decor that is trending right now and I wanted to use it in a way that my husband would not feel overwhelmed with this girly color. Below are some tips on how to decorate with pink!
1. Use it as an accent and not the main color.
When I styled these shelves I only used two pieces with pink, but when I look at the shelves I am drawn to the pink and it is what I see first. Gray, gold, and wood tones tie the rest of the look together. Most of these items are from Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or Target.
2. Mix with colors that play well together.
Gold goes so nicely with pink! When greenery is added in, you have a color scheme that can feel calming and sweet. The greenery helps to not make it too girly. These IKEA faux rosemary plants are one of my favorite items to decorate with and can be used for spring and last through the transition of seasons to summer.
This letter board is so fun and adds a little pop of pink to any corner of the house that I move it to. I heard my husband laugh when he read this quote and he didn’t even make mention of the fact is is pink!
3. Buy pieces that are used for more than just decor.
Vases, cake stands, or candles can be moved in and out for different seasons and they don’t go out of style. Small items that can also be used when you are entertaining like a cake stand or candle are worth purchasing since they can do double duty.
