When I started to decorate our current house, my goal was to achieve a spa inspired bathroom. The first decision we made was our paint color. Most of the paint color palette in my house is pretty light and I wanted to go a little darker in the bathroom, but still maintain an airy spa feeling.
We ended up going with Benjamin Moore Atmospheric AF-500 and it came out great! It is a perfect blue/green color with a very coastal feel.
We also added some warm wood tones with DIY floating shelves and framing the mirror. One of the easiest DIY projects is framing out a builder grade mirror. I find that most people aren’t using the space behind their toilet and shelves are the perfect touch! It gives you the ability to decorate to add more ambiance to the space. I went with a coastal feeling with candles and starfish and sand dollars from our trips to Monterrey, California. A basket on the toilet is the perfect hiding spot for extra toilet paper. Target is a great place to pick up baskets like this one.
Last but not least, fresh flowers can give a space an instant spa feeling! I picked these up from World Market and they look amazingly real. They come bunched together with the greenery which is perfect.
What touches do you add to make your bathroom feel like a spa?!
