My favorite weekend project lately has been putting together design inspiration boards and this farmhouse dining room has me so excited! Below is the floor plan of our dining room and the 5 ft. opening leads directly into the kitchen. I have plans for idential built-in’s on both sides of the opening but that might be a DIY project for Drew after we move in.
I always knew I wanted board and batten on the bottom half of the wall with wallpaper on the top. With 9 ft. ceilings on our first floor I will do board and batten up to 5 feet and use the wallpaper on the remaining 4 ft to the ceiling in order to give it balance. We used Anthropologie wallpaper in my daughters room so I started my wallpaper search on their website. I found the cutest blue and white subtle design and that was my jumping off point for the entire room.
I kept most of the items neutral and will bring in some color and greenery with accessories.
1. Anthrolopogie Wallpaper 2. DIY Board & Batten
3. Ikea faux rosemary 4. Loloi Rug 5. Home Sign
6. Charcoal Linen Paige Round-Back Dining Chairs, Set of 2: Gray by World Market
7. Keaton Dining Collection by World Market
I waited for a 40% off sale from World Market and ordered those dining room chairs. I am so obsessed with how they look and the quality is great. Below is our current dining room with the chairs! As for the dining room table, the one that I’ve linked is called the Keaton table and my son’s name is Keaton so I thought it was meant to be, ha! We will be using our current table below, but we will have a screened in porch and I think I may go with the Keaton table for that space.
The last decision we have to make is lighting. I’m going back and forth on what I want for the space and can’t decide between one large fixture or two smaller fixtures. This is an 8 foot table so I feel like either would work. I’m going to keep weighing my options and I’ll be back with an update!
I absolutely love that wood table – so rustic!
That is such a beautiful set up of a dinning room and I am sure everyone will definitely like it.
So nice how everything comes together! I think the fact that you kept most things neutral helps with that, there is no clash of anything, but it really looks like “one style”.
Ooo that is a nice table! I am on the look for a nice sized table for my kitchen.
World Market has some great options!
I absolutely love that dinning room!! The sign to the tables! Great job!
Thank you so much Leah!
