In my previous post I mentioned we starting our home building process about a year and a half ago and our intention was to break ground by January 2018. If you live in the mid-west you know how brutal the winter was. We were still getting snow in April which hasn’t happened for the 15 years I’ve lived in Indianapolis. It was rough! Needless to say that pushed our project back a few months and we ended up starting at the end of March.
We were so excited to break ground! I know these pictures are a bunch of dirt, but it was so amazing to see it get started.
Next we had footer and foundation work to do. We ended up going with a brick form for the cement (basically made the cement look like brick) because we aren’t having any brick or stone on the house. We thought this would at least give it some visual interest. Of course we had more snow and a lot of rain during this process which pushed us back a few more weeks.
After the foundation was poured we had to let it sit for 3 weeks before they started the framing process. I mean talk about needed patience! It is not my strong suit, but luckily we have started framing! Next week I will update on how the framing is going. Thanks for following along!
