The roof is going on! This past week we had a ton of activity at our new house and the progress is so fun. The entry way got the first layer of siding, but the door and side lights have not been cut out yet.
So happy to see the roof trusses over our master bedroom, master bathroom and closet. Some of the siding has also been put on.
They used the crane to place the trusses on the second floor and it was so cool to watch. You can see the roof has been set on both sides of the main portion of the house. They still have to cut out the door a little wider and we will have side light windows by the door. Right now it looks like one big box, but we will also have a front porch with a gable roof. Hopefully in the next few weeks we will see the front porch start to take shape. It is going to change the entire look of the front of the house and give it some much needed dimension!
The roof over the garage has been set and I’m loving the two foot overhangs. We went with a low pitch roof with large overhangs because we were really drawn to the prairie style roof. I love how it is coming together.
Hoping for another dry week of no rain so more progress can be made. I’m hoping in 3 or so weeks we will be completely roofed in so the weather won’t affect us any more. Check out my previous updates here. #1, #2, #3, #4, #5.
