Last week was all about the roof! We are so lucky the rain held off and they were able to make great progress on the house. They are at the stage where the roof is waterproof! So exciting that when it rains, our floors won’t be super drenched and have to dry out. With the black waterproofing material it gave some dimension and the pictures really don’t do it justice.
There will be more roof over the dining room and office windows. I also can’t wait to see the front porch come together. Keeping my fingers crossed for the front porch to be built, but they are heavily focused on the back porch and I can’t wait to show you those pictures next week!
Here is the view from the driveway.
I’m standing in the screened in porch looking at the walk out basement and living room.
I thought it would be fun to snap a few interior pictures even though it is hard to distinguish spaces in the photos with the walls still being open. This view is from just inside the front door. The only space with high ceilings in the house is the entry way and the first floor has 9′ ceilings. I’m hoping our quote for steel railing comes back at a reasonable price! (those wood railings are for safety only and are temporary)
Here is the view we’ve been dreaming about since we started this house!
We picked out our front door this week! We debated between putting a window in the front door, but ultimately decided that we have enough natural light so the front door will be solid.
